The Next Generation Rotorcraft Capability High Visibility Project is an international framework in which its members can join forces to design, develop, and deliver a medium-multi-role helicopter. Many of the medium multi-role helicopters currently used by Allies will be at their end service cycle by 2035-40 and beyond, and the necessity to replace them. The inventory of these assets is constructed on designs from the past century. The NGRC initiative aims to address the upcoming need efficiently and cost-effectively while also making use of a wide range of technological advancements in production techniques, manufacturing techniques, and operational ideas. NATO differentiates three distinct categories of vertical lift, also referred to as helicopters which are medium, light, and heavy. The distinction lies in the payloads that can be transported. The NGRC conceptual phase will initially concentrate on medium-sized multi-role capabilities considering the speed of technological development and the future needs of the participants.
